Tom Hardy Hints at Possible Showdown Between Venom and Tom Holland Spider Man at Comic

At the recent Comic-Con, actor Tom Hardy unveiled his excitement for his upcoming film Venom: The Last Dance, while revealing his longing for a showdown with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. This film, set to be released on October 25, 2024, marks the conclusion of Hardy's trilogy portraying the iconic Marvel anti-hero Venom.

Hardy's Enthusiastic Wish for a Spider-Man Clash

While promoting Venom: The Last Dance, Hardy took the stage on Friday, where he enthusiastically shared his desire to face off against Spider-Man. “I would love to fight Spider-Man. I would love to fight him now. I’m happy to fight Spider-Man today, 100 percent. I would never say never,” he stated. Hardy's comments have sparked excitement among fans who have long anticipated a battle between the two beloved characters.

A Triumphant Conclusion to the Trilogy

Venom: The Last Dance will be Hardy’s final portrayal of Eddie Brock, the human counterpart of the alien symbiote Venom, following the two successful standalone films. Hardy emphasized the film’s significance, stating, “We were specifically set up to bring Venom to a movie format, and that’s what we’ve done. ‘The Last Dance’ is the final piece in that trilogy, and we’re really excited about that,” as reported by Variety.

While Hardy's Venom has yet to confront Spider-Man on screen, the desire for this epic clash has been a longstanding wish for fans of both characters. The absence of a direct confrontation between the two in previous films has left many hoping for a crossover that would deliver an exhilarating showdown.

Teasing Future Symbiote Adventures

The trailer for Venom: The Last Dance also hints at the potential introduction of Knull, the dark god of the symbiotes, who is shown sitting on a black throne. Knull, a significant character in the Marvel Comics universe, is known for creating the symbiotes, including Venom. Kelly Marcel, a producer on the film, noted, “This is just the introduction to Knull. He’s a massive, massive character, so you can never be one-and-done with him. This is just a little taster of Knull. We get to meet him. What the future holds for him, who knows.”

While the film will serve as a conclusion to Eddie and Venom’s storyline, Marcel confirmed that there are plenty of symbiote stories yet to be explored. “The plot for Eddie and Venom closes here. But as you know, there are lots of symbiote stories in the canon. There are lots of places to go, and maybe there are a few Easter eggs in here that might start that journey off,” she added.

A Possible Future Showdown?

As Venom: The Last Dance approaches its release, Tom Hardy's wish to battle Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has reignited hopes for a cinematic crossover between the two characters. While this film will conclude the current chapter for Eddie Brock, the introduction of Knull and the hints at future symbiote stories suggest that the universe of Venom is far from over. Fans will be eagerly watching to see if Hardy's wish for a confrontation with Spider-Man becomes a reality in the future.
