Rajkummar Rao Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video Crosses 23 Crore at the Indian Box Office on Day 5

The Raaj Shaandilyaa-directed Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has managed to cross the ₹23 crore mark at the Indian box office by day 5. Despite a steady dip in collections, the film, starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, is holding its ground against tough competition from Alia Bhatt's Jigra, which was released on the same day, October 11.

According to reports from Sacnilk.com, the film earned ₹2.15 crore on Tuesday, bringing its total Indian box office earnings to ₹23.35 crore. While the movie opened strong with ₹5.5 crore on day one, it saw gradual drops in the following days, earning ₹6.9 crore on day two, ₹6.4 crore on day three, ₹2.4 crore on day four, and ₹2.15 crore on day five. The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 11.07% on Tuesday, indicating a consistent but moderate performance.

In comparison, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is trailing behind Rajkummar Rao's last box office hit, Stree 2, which earned ₹38.1 crore by day five. Similarly, Triptii Dimri's previous film Bad Newz fared better on its fifth day with ₹3.75 crore. However, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has surpassed Alia Bhatt's Jigra, which has earned ₹19.85 crore so far, with a day five collection of ₹1.60 crore.

A Star-Studded Cast and Unique Plot

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video boasts an ensemble cast including Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri, Vijay Raaz, Mast Ali, Archana Puran Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Saharsh Kumar Shukla, Rakesh Bedi, Tiku Talsania, and Ashwini Kalsekar. Produced by T-Series Films, Balaji Motion Pictures, Wakaoo Films, and Kathavachak Films, the film’s quirky premise follows Vicky (Rao) and Vidya (Dimri) as they desperately search for their missing “suhagraat CD” in Rishikesh.

The plot weaves in comedic elements as the couple, with help from Mallika Sherawat’s character Chanda Rani and their eccentric family members, goes to great lengths to recover the tape—appealing to police, involving elders, and even venturing into graveyards.

Outlook and Future Box Office Performance

Despite the film’s gradual decline in earnings, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video remains a crowd-pleaser, especially with its engaging first hour, as highlighted in early reviews. However, criticism of the film’s weaker script in the second half may be contributing to the slowdown at the box office.

With competition from Jigra and other upcoming releases, the film’s future box office performance will depend on sustained audience interest and word-of-mouth promotion. Nonetheless, the ₹23 crore collection is a positive milestone for the film, signaling its ability to hold its own in a competitive market.

As audiences continue to enjoy this lighthearted romp through Rishikesh, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video may yet surprise with steady earnings in the coming weeks.
